(500) Days of Summer
I have a girl crush on Zooey Deschanel. She is cutesy-funny-quirky-clever which is pretty much what this movie could be described as. It's like a piece of apple pie goodness.
The story basically describes the nerdy/nice/cutesy stereotype guy, Tom, falling for cool and dreamlike new girl in the office, Summer. Tom has always had the visionary dream of falling in love with the perfect girl that was meant for him. Summer on the other hand is a sceptical realist who doesn't really even believe in the concept of love full stop. But Tom believes she's it...and for awhile it seems like it is...but what happens when she doesn't return the delightedness in their romance? Rejection can be a sad tale....typically it's the opposite sex suffering in this kind of story, but boys aren't immune to the down side of love...or lust, just as much as the ladies. This film has an awesome way of showing that. It is also true to the way it is when relationships seem great and then don't go just the way you want them too...most people will relate. Plus it's funny and they mention The Smiths. I think I may have a little crush on Joseph Gorden Levitt (Tom) also, I'm a sucker for the nice cute ones.....

My Beautiful Laundrette
Sliding back beneath the darkness of her eye's
Lurking and hiding in shadowed corners of disguise
The journey passes without any agnowledgement
Of passers-by or goings on along the street
Vacant and scrambling she brushes past the crowd
No eye contact or slowing down is allowed
No smile's, no glimpse's, no sideways glance
She walks as if seemingly struck by a trance
And then, alas, her wide eye's do a double take
My beautiful laundrette is upon her, it's coaxed her awake
Lurking and hiding in shadowed corners of disguise
The journey passes without any agnowledgement
Of passers-by or goings on along the street
Vacant and scrambling she brushes past the crowd
No eye contact or slowing down is allowed
No smile's, no glimpse's, no sideways glance
She walks as if seemingly struck by a trance
And then, alas, her wide eye's do a double take
My beautiful laundrette is upon her, it's coaxed her awake

Don't make me laugh...
RANT OF A KIND : Adventures of a Wanderer and Tales from the Crypt....
DAWN BREAKS LIKE A BULL THROUGH THE HALL....Saturday 03 OCT
Today I have started this blog. This will attempt to convey some random rants and unrelated thoughts/crazy happenings that have been seen/heard/experienced whilst I walk the streets of Melbourne, Australia, >Earth.
TOPIC 1! : THE DEAD WEATHER
I love moooooosik. It makes my world go round. Without mooosik I go into a tailspin and get slighty clammy hands. The excitement on my mind in the music world right now is THE DEAD WEATHER. A collaboration between Jack White (The White Stripes) and Alison Mosshart (The Kills), together they are a combination of pure raw wretched awesome-ness. They are also joined by Jack Lawrence on bass and Queens of the Stone Age Dean Furtita on guitar. Mosshart mostly takes on singing duties while White is back behind the drums. I only recently renewed my love for The White Stripes. While I'm riding the trams of Melbourne I like to put the volume up full bore and play The Hardest Button to Button....it's hard not to tap your feet I dare you to try it.....
CHECK THEM OUT.....
The album is called Horehound. Made in Nashville on what sounds like a 15 day bender (with visits to a gun range and circus), got to love the old school rockness of it. Doesn't seem like there's many unpolished true rockers around these days.
Explosive-sludgey-bluesy-rock rythym with stark sultry to siren vocals. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Speaking of Alison Mosshart...I saw a photo of her by a French photographer that is surely worth a mention, SOPHIE JARRY. Inspires me. Enough said, some of her pictures...
